I'm a vegan mom blogger who lives in Southern California just trying to get by in this ridiculously expensive but righteously progressive place. I'm an artist and designer who owned a flower business to the stars in LA and a Jersey girl who grew up outside New York City. I was a Master Model Builder at LEGOLAND and started blogging when I worked for them as the Brick Star in 2006.
I never thought I'd take blogging this far...
Now I'm an old school blogger and a WAHM. I started MommyOnTheMoney.com to share all the crazy and creative ways we make it work because bloggers don't make that much. You have to do it because you have something to say or wisdom to share... because you want to make the world a better place, show people a better way, to do the right thing.
Besides writing from the heart on this blog, I LOVE to give stuff away (sometimes also from my heart, sometimes from great brands and bloggers that work with us), review products, create EASY vegan recipes that don't cost too much, and share pretty much everything from my garden to my favorite theme park hacks.
So in true old-school blogger style, I try to keep blog posts coming, I don't have a "staff" besides Daddy on the Dollar helping me with cooking gooooooood food, and I'm free to speak my mind.
If you like my point of view, let me break it down for you.
Follow me on Facebook where things get a little more political, especially right now when I #FeelTheBern but I'm still sharing giveaways freebies, and deals, so if you get mad at me, hopefully it's not too mad and you win something.
Follow me on Instagram to see all the KILLER food we make and get the travel, garden, and creative posts.
Follow me on Twitter if you are a Sweeper or just want to get the feed on all the recipes, giveaways, reviews, and new posts.
Finally, I pin all my good recipes and DIY projects from Cute Food to LEGO designs on Pinterest.
If you want to find me on Snapchat, Vine, or whatever the heck else is out there right now, forget it! I'm an old-school blogger who doesn't have time for that but you never know because I never thought I'd be doing this: MommyOnTheMoney.com where I try to be "right on the money", but I'd rather be right-on than right.
So with that, I'll give you the main message I want to get across especially if you'll never, ever, come by this blog ever ever again but happened to have enough curiosity to read this far...
Your money is your vote. You have the right to stand up for what you believe in. Do the right thing.
Sometimes the right thing seems like it's too difficult, or not available to you, or you can't afford it. That's when you know you have to fight for it.
Doing the right thing is not rocket science, it is not interpreted from Bible verses, it is not out of your hands. The right thing shouldn't hurt anyone, from animal to human, and certainly should be from your heart, right now, as you are faced with choices from what kind of food to buy to what kind of car you drive.
Do what you do out of love, with a purpose, with care, with joy, with passion, with intent. That's what we do here.
Maybe we are right on the money! Maybe we are nuts. The truth is that we may not have it all, but are chock full of what really counts and it feels awesome so it's got to be good for you.
A little more on blog topics covered here:
I blog about family, travel, gardening, jewelry, shopping, theme parks, DIY, home improvement, fashion, our pets, LEGO, cooking, crafts, playdates, being outside, eating healthy, wine, art, music, reality tv, pretty much everything and anything.
We are very proud of our drought tolerant Front Yard and Garden.
We also find the excellent deals on organic food, toys, shopping, entertainment, and travel that I share often, so be sure to follow me...
